The International Junkanoo Festival of Tourism and Culture, organized by the World Junkanoo Festival Foundation, is a global cultural event celebrating the vibrant heritage of Junkanoo, a traditional Bahamian (Caribbean) festival. The festival's aim is to foster peace, justice, and strong institutions (SDG 16) by promoting cultural understanding and social cohesion through diverse, inclusive, and peaceful celebrations. Additionally, it strives to revitalize global partnerships for sustainable development (SDG 17) by collaborating with international cultural organizations, governments, and communities, thus encouraging shared goals and mutual support for sustainable progress. The festival serves as a dynamic platform to unite people across borders, leveraging cultural tourism to advance the United Nations' sustainable development agenda.
